The extra thickness on the nose helps you with the paddling and you catch waves easy,the tail and nose rocker is medium which gives the board an all around feeling ,the  rounded rails, the generous volume  ,the foil distribution of the board and the template,all these attributes makes this board user friendly.This board will work in many conditions and you will be able to do your first tuns on that board.
